Andean Music this name unites traditional Indian, Creole, Afro-Creole musical schools and the schools formed comparatively not long ago on their basis. The fatherland of the Andean music are the mountain regions of Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, Argentina and Chile that had once been under the dominion of the Great Incas Empire (Tawantinsuyu), or simpler the regions where Indians speaking Aymara è Kechua languages are living. In the Spanish-speaking cultures this music is in particular known as "Andino".
Kirkincho sp. is an ensemble representing all the variety of genuine Andean music. The repertoire of the group embraces traditional rhythms and genres dating from precolumbian cultures, modern Indian and Creole folklore (including songs in Aymara, Kechua and Spanish) and songs created by the musicians from Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador, Argentina and Chile.
The group was set up in 1997 in Moscow.
The membership changed, and from 2001 "Kirkincho sp." is represented by
Anatoliy Yelisseyev,
Marina Arsenieva and
Seguey Ponimatkin. All the musicians play traditional Andean instruments as well as the instruments that had come from the Old World.
From 1997 the group sings in public in clubs and at all sorts of occurrences in Moscow and other cities.
